This is really why ….
We are meant to dance and so Disorderly Dance is to move freely to music and sound unhindered and uninhibited.
Where do we do that in a society that is repressed, judgmental, fearful and critical?
Answer – we don’t.
Dancing usually involves alcohol or attendance at a random function or party and probably the birdie song! Genuine enjoyment on the dance floor is normally followed by feelings of guilt, dread, embarrassment and worry the next day and especially as most people suffer the greatest disapproval from those closest to them!
So, here it is …. A chance to Dance with me!
I won’t see you because we all wear blindfolds, no vision, no self consciousness, no judgement, no comparison, no competition, no doing it right or wrong, no being told how to do it at all….
Just the space and the music (unsurprisingly Trance Music) with the permission to let it all go and preferably shake it around a fair amount!
The sheer energy and joy released and gained from dancing for an hour (you decide when to take a rest) is transforming, quite literally. Last year when I ran the sessions, even my fingers and toes ached the next day after expressing with every part of my body my Self and my Life! (One participant made 17,000 steps on her fitness tracker in an hour which I thought impressive!)
Plus there’s an awful lot in this ‘energy’ business and sometimes there are not the words to say what is going on but there is movement and our bodies are meant not just for hard slog but wonderful, beautiful, appreciative movement. Some people can’t move, and one day maybe we won’t have that luxury either, so let’s all celebrate ourselves and the bodies we have right now!
Much Love
Alison
